Tomorrow (Thursday) is Ascension Day - the end of the time that the resurrected Jesus walked and talked on earth with his human friends. Here's a great video that talks about Jesus' new role as intercessor for us - always with God, always with us. Wow. You may chooses to talk to your child(ten) about how Jesus is always with us and hears our prayers. Talk about things you believe but can't see. Most of all, talk about how the Ascension goes with the Crucifixion and Resurrection. It is part of how everything changed. Please share your thoughts, or those of your family!

I love this video clip! It is an easy way to gain a clearer understanding of Jesus ascending into heaven. What I like from the Luke reading (Luke 24:51-52) is that while Jesus is ascending he blesses his disciples and then they worship him and return home with great joy. And their worship of God continues on and on and on all the way to us today at St. Andrew's. We are part of the story too!

Believing in Jesus although she can't see him was a simple concept for Emelina but ascension was harder. :) Emelina finally related it to herself: on the last day of school she will suddenly ascend to first grade status - new responsibilities, new role.
