So, this week's Gospel reading (Luke 16:1-13) is a real doozy. Your Gospel Story here on the FISH site doesn't address verse 10: "(Jesus said,) Whoever is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much..."
That's what I was referring to on Sunday, when I said that being faithful in small things is like practicing piano or soccer. If we do the small things all the time, then we know how to do the big things when we have the opportunity.
Parents may practice being faithful in small ways as they name their thankfulness for material blessings, and remember the poor in daily conversation. Your child(ren) will know it is important when you say it.
You might also ask your children what it was I put them in charge of (remembering the canned food offering each week). Make it a game, and rejoice that God forgives you when you forget!
