What Is FISH?
Welcome to the FISH site!
Jesus called Andrew and the other disciples, saying, "Follow me, and I will make you fish for people." At St. Andrew's, we believe that fishing for each other, helping each other to be formed in our faith, is how we follow Jesus.
FISH is the innovative Christian Formation program at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Arlington, VA.
We FISH because we're family.
We FISH because our faith makes us who we are, all week long.
How Do We FISH?
- Come to church as often as you're able. Worship is how we make God important in our lives, and how we experience the mystery of God's power and love. Learn more about Episcopal worship, and worship at St. Andrew's, here. (When you have to miss church, you can find out what we talked about here).
- Decide what faith practices your family will have at home: meal time prayers, bed time prayers, weekly review of Sunday's Gospel, activities to help others, etc. Look here for help.
- Come to this site for resources to help you practice your faith at home (the site is updated on Wednesdays by 4pm).
- Attend Sunday FISHing events
What is Sunday FISHing?
Sunday FISHing is when we meet all together for teaching. Sunday FISHing is usually after worship and Children's Choir practice. We bring a dish to share and plan to stay until 1:00.
