Lent is the season for getting ready for the miracle of Easter. In Lent, we take on practices that bring us closer to God and give up things that pull us away from God. This year, the FISH community will focus on growing closer to God by being better Bible readers, better prayers, and better helpers of others. Choose a children's Bible to help you read the stories at home, and pick up a mite box for our offering for Haiti. And don't forget to bring canned food for AFAC every Sunday!
Read it.Jesus healed the blind man, but the others had trouble believing he was healed. What did he say? "I was blind, and now I see." How would you tell someone what kind of difference your faith has made to you?
Count it.Count how many years of school each member of your family has..
Discuss it.The average Haitian child spends less than four years in school. The total adult literacy rate is 49%.
Pray about it.Thank God for each school you have attended, placing a coin in your mite box for each one. Remember your best teachers. Pray for the schools and teachers in Haiti.
