Lent is the season for getting ready for the miracle of Easter. In Lent, we take on practices that bring us closer to God and give up things that pull us away from God. This year, the FISH community will focus on growing closer to God by being better Bible readers, better prayers, and better helpers of others. Come to church on Ash Wednesday at noon or at 6pm (Family Service) to be part of the ancient ritual of wearing ashes, and to be fed for the Lenten journey at our Holy Table. Choose a children's Bible to help you read the stories at home, and pick up a mite box for our offering for Haiti. And don't forget to bring canned food for AFAC every Sunday!
Read it.Abraham followed God's call to a new life in a new place. Nicodemus had a difficult time understanding how a person could be born again. Tell the story, in your own words. What was Jesus' promise to Nicodemus?

Count it.Count the number of times you use water every day. Include flushing, drinking and washing.
Discuss it.Port-au-Prince is the largest city in the world with no sewer system. In rural Haiti, only 49% of the people have access to improved water sources and only 25% have access to improved sanitation.
Pray about it.Thank God for our abundant water supply. Place a coin in your mite box for way you use water. Pray for those who don't have access to safe, clean water.
In your children's Bible, read the story of Moses. Or read this story here:
